Obama--mania

Rate Obama's 1st year as President. What were the high/low lights? What do you think he should make the top priority for 2010? What do you think that others rank high--but you think should be shelved.

Lastly, what do you think about the Obama family? Do we care too much about Michele's arms? do you want to know more about the children?

    I think its hard to tell right now how his presidency will turn out, not alot has really been done in my opinion. One year really isnt that long considering how long things take to get done.

    He said he would bring troops back from iraq, but he's sending more. He says they'll be brought back by next year, so i guess we'll see.
    He also says we're getting out of the recession and that the stimulas bill will create more jobs or whatever. but i dont think that's really happening.
    But, on the good end, the health care is in progress, i guess getting closer to be passed.
    Its just too soon to tell. and i would like troops to be pulled out but thats not for me to decide ,and its personal because my cousins over there.

    I really dont care about obamas family, they're not the president and i dont think they really matter. All they can do is influence his decisions or whatever, but thats it. But thats just my opinion. Not only that but to be honest i dont really care about the president. ha

    Well, to me Obama's first year as president hasn't really been anything spectacular, but it wasn't too terribly awful either. To my knowledge, he hasn't really gotten anything done, but then I guess that's to be expected because, well, it's politics. He's also not really delivered on a lot of his campaign promises, but then I guess that's to be expected too because, well, he's a politician. The biggest 'change we can believe in' has been the health care bill. We're still in Iraq and the economy's not looking too hot. I guess FDR must've stolen all his ideas.

    I don't. Yes, we do care too much about Michele's arms. I find it hard to believe that her arms are going to propose any new legislation any time soon. And besides, Obama's family wasn't elected into office, he was. As far as the kids go, I don't think it matters if I want to know more about them. They should be left alone.

  3. The first year of Obama's presidency hasn't been great or awful, just kind of there. I mean he really hasn't accomplished anything so far. I mean he even got the Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing! He hasn't kept any of his promises so far just because it's difficult to get things done in politics and well he's a politician so that would be a real big surprise if he didn't come through on his promises... So in all honesty, nothing has really happened of changed. He's just kinda there. Not that he isn't trying to get things done but so far he isn't having much luck.

    I really don't think we need to know more about his family. It's none of our business what his family is like. They aren't the ones that got elected. If he doesn't want his family to be talking to every news paper and magazine in the nation thats totally ok. It's his family and their decision on how public they want to be.

    @ Schmuck
    I agree with your first paragraph, really nothing has happened at all so far.

    For as much as the media has hovered around everything and anything Obama, I still don't know a whole lot about what has been done. Obviously the big focus in his first year has been healthcare. While I think it's great that Obama has been working to get the healthcare bill passed, I think he has been way too sensitive to what his critics say. He could have gotten a lot more accomplished in his first year with the majority of Congress being democratic but instead tried to work with everyone to reach decisions. Who does that? In 2010 I suppose his best course of action would be to address some of the other issues that were ignored this year.
    I don't care at all about the Obama family's personal business, but I can see why people do. They're like the Kennedys were-- fashionable first lady, relatable family, a new change in politics. I think their kids are just kids, and they should be left alone.

    I feel as though Obama could have done a lot more then what he has done. Yet, I can't really say that with too much confidence considering I'm not the President nor do I understand completely the process in which things have to get done. Therefore with that being said maybe things are more complex then what they actually appear. Obama has had a great leap with the Health Care Bill and so I do rate him highly with that in saying that he has done something there. However, the lows would be...well everything else. I haven't really heard nor actually have been taught about much else then Obama being linked to the Health Care Bill. I think he should keep on the Health Care Bill in 2010, yet who is to say what could happen between now and 2010..theres still time and room for something to happen that might make Obama make other things a priority. I personally could care less about Obama's family. I mean obviously I would like to know if his family eats other families or does anything unethical..but really I'd like to know that about any family..and therefore his is not any more significant in my opinion.

    Megan,
    I also could care less about Obama's family. I don't see why people obsess over them ...it seems pointless.

    Brook,
    I second your comment to Hoover! I liked last weeks blog but I think this one was much nicer. Thanks Hoover.

    i'll try and make my grammer and spelling as horrid as possible for those critics out there :)
    Basically, i think that i agree with most people saying he did nothing. This doesn't mean that he did terrible, or incredible. He stayed pretty neutral. I think he kept the country at the much needed balance it required to pull itself out of this recession. I think his main focus right now should be finalizing this stupid health care bill and making sure to include everyone. Michelle and the kids...hm...basically it's this; the presidential family isn't something for the paparazzi to write about constantly and people to care about. They're simply the president's family. Michelle has just as much education that her husband has, so i feel her contributions are the things that should be reconized, not her toned arms.

    Its a hard question to answer right now becsue you could go either way and it could be a legitement answer on to how Obama's first year has gone. You know how he said he was going to pull troops out of iraq and how he got the peace prize, but you know at the same time he had lots of defense on why he should and did send some more troops into iraq. You know of course he hasn't done everything he said he was going to do but hey, your going to get that with every president and i don't think that people are giving him enough slack, i mean really its only been one year.

    Could he have done more? Of course he could have, and also lost half of his popularity by bad decisions or simple not what the people want. And i think Obama is enjoying all of this and doesn't want to lose any of it.
    What do i think he should do for 2010. Well its hard to tell the president what to do simple because Your not in his seat getting the heat from everyone. I guess just try to get alittle more done this year without totally loseing the love from the people.

    NO, Don't care about the Obama family at all. Movie stars, and pro sports players have my interest

    Ok so really I think people are way too hard on Obama. I mean honestly we have all these critics out here saying he's doing nothing and he needs to take charge. Well even kids in high school say things like that. I would like to see all of you go out there and be the president of a whole country! No one but the president knows how much work it is. He is one person trying to please the other couple billion people in our nation. Maybe lay off and have a little faith. He's doing his best to get things fixed. He even made a speech saying it was a long journey that may not get done in the first year or even the first term! He is working on one huge bill right now for healthcare which takes up a lot of energy so it's not like he rolled over dead. He is doing his best with all the problems our nation and people in particular have done to ruin us. For instance I saw a piece of 60 minutes tonite at him bein interviewed and actually getting angry. People are questioning him about what he has done for the economy and he said basically well don't accuse me and don't try to criticize me when you rich people on wall street are giving yourselves 10 million dollar raises while people are going out on the street for not being able to afford rent. One man cannot do it alone. I don't think that he is doing that bad I think people are just too harsh and the people that don't really know are just listening to what they hear and won't form their own opinion. The lows of Obama's year is that nothing has been fully passed and I think the economy is the most important issue right now and healthcare. Any other issues such as iraq can be toned down for a little because they have been there for awhile now.

    I personally think that this first family is much more interesting than normal first families because there are young children and more of a modern family rather than old fashioned. They are intriguing and I think it would be neat to learn more about the family as actual people. Given family issues do not need to be put into the spotlight because some things should be private. I know its hard though to get the good without the bad with famous people.

    Sav, I agree! I think this family is much more brought down to reality where we can feel more relatable to them

    Brook, not gonna bash you but read into things a little. He hasn't done absolutely nothing and my big problem is that he even told the world that it was going to be a fast change!

    1. I would say Obama first year can't really be described as good or bad. I do think though that it can be looked in a negative way because after he promised so many changes that would happen nothing really did. So for him saying he would do a lot and not doing it i would say this wasn't a positive year. I think Obama should work on creating more jobs. I also think the health care bill shouldn't be passed.

    2. I really don't care about his family at all. They have no importance in the government so they have no importance to me or anybody else.

    Besides the health care debate you haven't heard too much other publicity about his decisions. Even though we may think a year is a long time, it isn’t when you’re trying to get stuff done as president. I believe that our country could still improve on getting our economic system back in order. It’s going to take awhile so I guess we’ll find out if president Obama can help us through that. Also I believe that Obama should send our troops back home.

    I believe what happens with the Obama family is a personal matter. They’re a family like everyone else and what happens between them should stay between them. Not everyone needs to know what they talk about. That’s all personal.

    I think the high point thus far of Obama’s first year is hands down their new dog, Bo. I mean come on; we all need a furry huggable dog, right? Anyway, in all seriousness I agree with what’s been said before (or my opinion is the same as…) that Obama hasn’t really done a whole lot, certainly not anything worthy of the Peace Prize (in my personal opinion). I think that the health care bill is certainly the high-point mainly because it’s the only obvious thing that he’s working towards, but I personally think that the process is being rushed and that taking a little more time would produce a better system, but hey, what do I know?

    As for Obama’s family, I pretty much agree with everyone else’s opinion, that we should just leave them alone. I personally don’t give a crap, BUT I can see how the media has focused on them because frankly there hasn’t been a whole lot going on (it’s either the health care bill or Michelle Obama’s arms, you pick which is more interesting).

    @ Robert- yes. I agree with everything you've said. Ever.

    @ Brook – I agree also with everything you said. Mostly.

  15. 1.) Obama's first year wasn't too horrible. I mean to some Republicans it has been. I know my father is always upset with things Obama is doing or what he wants to do. But I on the other hand hasn't seen him do much. he likes to say that he has, but in reality I don't see it happening. He is on the more long term path, so wee will be able to see a difference in a few years time. I think Obama should do more, I understand the whole transitional period, but a year should be enough for it. Obama should bring back troops from Iraq, is the one that I feel to be the most important one.

    2.) Yes we care too much about the first family. I mean how important are they? I think they aren't that important. They are just people.

    @ Everyone

    I think the family isn't that important also.

    1. Well, Hoover always says in class that Obama hasn't done much, and i agree with him. Troops are still in Iraq and Bush's faults are now turning into Obama's faults. I still like Obama. The health care bill is really being pushed forward, and I'm thinking that it may be a success. He's definitly getting re-elected in 2012, unless the world ends...

    2. This is what i think, Michelle Obama is hot compared to Laura Bush. Laura Bush was the run of the mill white woman, in other words, BORING. The Obamas are a very media-friendly family, kind of like the Kennedys. I honestly don't give a hoot about the Obama family, i just care about Brady Quinn

    @ Sav
    I agree, the family should not get the attention. The kids should have a media-free life.

    Well, i guess i'll be honest and say i don't really know any of obamas high/low lights except for healthcare. I really don't care and don't like him, sooo i don't get involved. I don't think he deserved both the nobel peace prizes and i don't think he even really did anything this year.

    I don't care about Obama's family either, and neither should anyone else. I think its so stupid how he is always trying to do something public to make him and his family look so "perfect."

    I think some people might care a little bit too much, but that might just be because they want to be involved and want to know every aspect of the president and the family. I personally don't care and do not want to know more about the kids.

    @ Megan: don't you like how hoover always mixes us up ? haha. anywayyyy, i agree with your whole post.

    Well, he hasn't really done much of anything yet. He is sending more troops over to Iraq which I don't understand at all. We should be taking the troops out of Iraq. He's doing it wrong. I guess that would be 'lowlight'. I guess a highlight to me would be that sending more troops to Iraq is the only thing that I disagree with so far, but political knowledge is not one of my strenghts. A lot of people also think that the rich should have to pay higher taxes and I disagree. Almost all rich people have worked to get rich, the others inherit it or get lucky, so I say treat them just like any other middle/low class person. Just because they have more money doesn't mean they need to pay more. They have to pay for their big houses, nice cars, and butlers.

    The President's family doesn't interest me at all. The President's family is just like other families because they are regular people, just like the President. He is just a regular person, who is deemed popular and intelligent enough to make decisions for the country. Hoover could be the next President. I don't care about Michele (only one L?) let alone her arms... I think that the children should be left alone like Robert said. Children shouldn't be exposed to so much media at a young age.

    @Robert: I agree that it's great that he has blown up our country yet, or anything terrible like that.

    @Jame: Yeah, they only time the family is evenly mildly important is if they did something unethical.

    I can see where you're coming from. Sometimes it seems like people criticize Obama too much. But that's what he signed up for. When you decide that you want to lead an entire country and then convince a majority of people in the country to vote for you, those people expect you to deliver. It's kinda the nature of the presidency. When you're president, your best just doesn't cut it sometimes. People did have faith-about a year ago. All those people running around celebrating and rambling on about change we could believe in after Obama got elected were expecting to see results, and when Obama, or any president for that matter, can't manage to meet those expectations, people get frustrated. And another thing, what good is it going to do to learn about the first family as actual people? So their a more modern family, so what? You might as well go interview the family that lives down the street.

    @ Katelyn

    I agree. A year isn't really that long in politics, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens in four. And the family should be left alone, too. That's it

    My anger has been supressed! Our house now has coffee, and I can officially say that I will not lash out at any grammatical issues that you make.

    I will, however, make much shorter entries now that I have nothing to complain about, and you'll actually have to do some in depth reading of everyone else's posts. Mwahaha!

    1. I would rate his first year as 'neutral', since there isn't much to rate him on. He proposed the Health Care bill, but that hasn't been passed so it's hard to judge him on that. He's marked crimes towards gays as hate crimes, which I think is good, but I'm not gay so it doesn't really affect me. He may have done other things, but I’m more concerned with whatever’s new on Pixiv than with politics, so I’m not really reliable. The biggest difference from last year is that Obama's voice is much more calming that Bush's, but I have an extreme aversion to southern/western/whateveryou'dcallit accents so that's probably why.

    For next year, I think the war on terror should be top priority. Funding it is probably a partial cause to the recession, so I think we should work on that...

    2. We've been complaining about Michele's arms? That's what I get for not watching TV anymore. :/ I do think that the Obamas get too much media coverage, though. I think it's alright because it makes them seem more like 'real people' (since some supporters seem to think he's the Messiah while some protesters believe that he's the Anti-Christ), but at the same time... do we really need day by day coverage of the Obamas buying a new dog?

    @Hoover- ...There are people who can keep a conversation going for fifteen minutes about her arms? I'm crying on the inside.

    @Tasha- The mental image of the Obamas starting a cult, however, cured my inner sad! I am now laughing uncontrollably.

    I think Obama's first year has been really boring and uneventful especially compared to what I think everyone expected from such a vivacious campaign. But nothing terrible has happened either. I guess the highlight of it seemed to be the healthcare bill. I think still focusing on healthcare in 2010 would be a good idea so that everything he's done during this year won't be seen as a waste.

    I don't care about Obama's family and don't want to know anything more about them but I guess if other people do...? I think the more his family is kept private the better. People always find a way to criticize a someone via their family and private issues.

    Obama hasn't gotten much done this past year. Its because of the fact hes a democrat the senate is basically republican based, just like the clinton presidency. This may be a good thing, however, because as hoover says in class, clintons presidency was one of the best presidencies because he got barely anything done. So maybe Obama's will be too. then again, i dont watch the news or follow politics.

    I'm pretty much with everyone else on this one. Obama hasn't really done much but of course it takes awhile to get things done over there at the White House. Ummm I just think that so far it's just another normal presidency. As far as sending troops, I have mixed feelings on this one. I think it should be shelved and we should worry more about our homeland and how the economy is.

    To tell you the truth, I don't give a crap about the obama family. I could care less. I think in 2010 he should focus on things that aren't really about the recession. This year was all about "get us out of the recession" so since we're out, maybe we can move on. I think that people are all about "creating jobs" but i think the newer jobs will come with time, so Obama can just ignore that in my opinion.

    1. I really don't think Obama fully expected to accomplish everything he promised he'd do in his first term so to me, i don't think his lack of following up indicates a failed first term. I mean, he's working on it ya know? cut him some slack. I think the health care bill might be effed based on how complicated its gotten, so in that aspect i think that appears negative for the first term...but for the most part the negative reflection of his first term is based on people expecting too much from him..and most likely just wanting to hate the president. thats right. H8ers.

    2. Family life is irrelevant, however, it just gives people something else to talk about concerning obama. Michelles arms are attractive.

    I think that Obama's first year went ok. He is pretty much doing the best he can for the situation he inherited. I think a high point for him had to be winning the nobel peace prize. A low point would probably be not having a health care bill passed yet. I think he should make Afghanistan a top priority in 2010 and also passing health care. I think things that should be shelved are all these bailout things.

    Let's just put it this way, when it comes to what's going on in politics, i don't give a care, but this is what i got from when i actually payed attention in Government.

    I honestly think Obama made too many large, yet empty, promises. I believe he had all good intentions, yet they were too big for him to handle. This whole health care bill is way too big for Obama to do alone, and he couldn't have every expected it to do it this soon. I feel if we give him time, he may do good.

    I'll be honest...when i got my glamour magazine from 2 months ago and it had michelle obama on the cover i threw it away. I'm so sick and tired of her, she's not the president, just the wife. She needs to step back and go cook something, and stop trying to be the president.

    1. Obama's first year is neutral in my opinion, he has done mostly nothing, except make speeches about what he should do. I think that he could've done more, but then again, how many presidents actually do stuff in their first year??? So i think he is just staying on the path of every other president. I think that he will do more in the future, but on a scale of 10, i'd say about a 6.5, only because thats better than failing. BAilouts should be shelved, and i think the war overseas should be really stressed.

    2. Definately dont really care much about the presidential family. Unless something really exciting or crazy happens, i really dont care.

    @ tahi- the obamas are media friendly, but if they are not affecting government, then why should we care.

    1. Obama's first year has been pretty anticlimactic. Nothing really too major happened. However, this is coming from a man that promised drastic political and social change starting from day one. I think a high point is occurring right now with the banks beginning to pay back much of their bailouts that the government had handed them. I believe that a low point would be the health care bill and it's failure to be passed by christmas. In the upcoming year, I believe that the president should look to stabilizing the country's economy for the long run, as well as focusing more drastically on foreign policy.

    2. I don't care about the man's family. Unless Obama has affairs with 10 different women and Michelle decides to run after him with whatever club-like device the president uses in everyday work, i don't care.

    First of all, it is rather difficult to rate how Obama has done in his first year in office, seeing as he really hasn't done much. So I really have no opinion except that he hasn't done anything truely awful and he hasn't done anything super either. The most important thing that Obama should focus on is the economy and the war in iraq.
    Secondly, we focus on stars too much and Obama and his family have become very star-like where the media is involved. I have absolutly no desire to hear the ins and outs of his family life, nor do I want to know about his wife's arms.

    Obama's presidency hasn't had many highlights whats so ever. His first year he has accomplished, uh, nothing. But as we've learned in class it takes time when it comes to government and passing legislation, so i think in the future he will get a number of things changed. He still has to work on health care, as well as wrapping up the war in Iraq.

    I personally like the Obama family. I don't know if i need to be reading about them in tablods all the time necessarily, but i think they set a good example of the country. And i really don't see the big deal in Michelle showing her arms. When it comes to the kids, they're just childrem and they're lives should be kept as private as possible.

    @Tahi
    i think you're right about the Obama's. They're just way more interesting then the bushs, so they're expected to get a lot of media coverage.

    @Robert
    Your right, of course Obama isn't gonna keep all his promises and live up to his word totally. it should almost be expected and not a big surprise

    Really, Obama hasn't really done that much this year except make enemies by not doing anything. But i think his focus on health care is good. I think he needs to back off it just a little though, and maybe give the environment a nod.

    As for publicity, i haven't really been following it. But i do think that the celebrity makes the obamas seen less credible. which is bad.

    I can’t really give Obama a rating, as he hasn’t done very much yet. All he has been doing is trying not to step on any toes, and getting hardly anywhere in the process. A high point thus far would be the health care bill, and a lowlight would be the fact he still has not gotten the military out of the Iraq and such as he promised, and it doesn’t really seem to be happening any time soon. But, that should be a priority. He promised it anyhow, and it was his whole campaign basis. Same with fixing the economy.

    I think we should just leave the Obama family be. They’re just a family like yours or mine, and I’m pretty darn sure no one would want their family constantly stalked. I especially don’t want to know more about his daughters. They’re kids too, and I know I don’t want everyone knowing everything about me.

    And, who gives a flying crap about Michele’s arms? She can let them out if she wants. There is nothing wrong with showing arms, unless we’ve spontaneously transported to the 18th century. Nope, we’re still in the 21st century. It’s all good.

    I think the president’s first year was a joke. He didn’t get anything done at all. Purposing a health care bill is not much. I think the first thing that Obama needs to do in 2010 is to deal with the Middle East. We have been involved over there for too long. And as for Obama’s family I could care less. He was not elected president so we could have so much news on them. I see news about Michele’s arm a slow news day.
    @Jamie
    I disagree with you about what Obama can do with the rest of the year. It took him six months to make a health care bill, what could he possibly do with a couple of weeks.
    @Jeff
    I completely agree with you about Obama’s family. They have no positive part to the president’s job.

    I think it is to early to tell if Obama is doing a good job or not. I think in the end it will come down to the Healthcare bill being either passed or rejected. The Health care bill is what he is spending most of his time on so i would imagine that this will be the thing that he is criticized or praised for depending on what happens.

    I am personally tired of hearing about the Obama's personal life. I understand it is a way to gather support by letting the american people know that your just like them, but enough is enough.

    @Shawn
    I agree that he probably didn't expect to get everything done that he said he would but at least something would be good. What did he accomplish besides the beer summit between the professor and the cop.

    @Robert and Drew
    Your completely right the news should not cover his children.

    Well.....it seems that Kyle is up to his fun and games again....*facepalm*...you really need to stop picking on Tom and the whole population who are not caucasion.....it's hurting your image, not that you have much of one anyway... No one has ever said "hey, that Kyle kid is so stupid and he should go eat $#*&"....oh wait, thats right....THEY DO. Case closed.

    Obama, in my opinion, which isn't worth anything, hasn't really done anything worth while to actually judge him, so I think that he has been a neutral president in terms of getting things done. Yes, he has proposed many things, like the health care bill and he's actually starting to bring troops back from iraq and sending them to Afghanistan, but none of that has happened yet, which hinders him in the long running. Also, all of Obama's plans for the time being, have not been put into affect, which is kind of bad when hes entering his second year in office. Anyway, so far...... I guess he's done a good job because nobody wants to kill anybody else and we haven't gone to war with any other foreign countries..............yet. D8

    Personally, I don't think that the Obama family should be of any importance at all, except that they are happy and their dad is getting things done. Really, who cares about Michelle Obama's arms anyway??? I sure don't, and I don't think the that the world should be notified about the Obama's decision in picking their dog. They should just pick a dog, hope it doesn't bite them, and be all happy-go-lucky. Also the children don't play a big role in the United States politics and no one cares what they're up to at any time, unless one has just won the Nobel Prize.....*snicker*, like their father.

    @Zach
    I completely agree with you when you say that Obama is being a neutral president because of all of the policies and plans that he has for the future, which have all been put on hold.......too bad.

    @Kyle
    You're such a prick.

    @ Ryan... You spelled grammar wrong. :P
    @ Kyle...........................................................................WTF..........

    All time lows... Where does the money from Obama's plans come from kids? "uhh Obama? cuz he is rich and awesome?" Woot free money when you fill out one of the limited 100 forms, oh wait someone went and photocopied 10,000 copies and sold them!! But yeah... I'm libertarian so his whole presidency sucks. But for him, he will have accomplished what he has been driving for after he gets the health care policy passed, and overall he improved foreign dealings to his ideals.

    I don't really care about Obama's family... It would take me 10 minutes to figure out what his wife's name is, and I forgot he even had a dog until Kyle said something....

    1. Obama hasn’t really seemed to do much in office I must say. What he has really done is goad the Congress into trying to pass a national health care bill. He won a peace prize for the Beer Summit. Honestly, who could blame Obama for what’s happening with the war. I believe that most of us knew that the war wasn’t going to end as soon as Obama was able to give the order to bring them home. Also he’s giving them an 18 month window. If he keeps to it then that’s great in my book Bush said that the war would be over soon in 2002 or possibly earlier. Also, Obama has a Congress that doesn’t seem very cognizant to the fact that they have a democratic majority. Only the libertarians (Tom and Heather) may truly believe that the congress is constantly passing socialist, if not communist, legislation.
    2. His priority for 2010 is to get the health care bill passed. Even if Obama keeps Congress in sessions from now to January 1st they still may not pass a health care bill. Obama needs to become the impatient kid in the back seat saying “Did you pass it yet? Did you pass it yet?” If Obama get’s health care passed he will not only go down as the first African American president he could as one the greatest. Or possibly the worst because people may grow to hate it. Why because we will ALL have to pay more taxes.
    3. I think that it’s great that the Obama has a younger family in the White House. It brings people back to the days of Kennedy. I bet that Michelle will keep him away from the swimming pool though. Let Michelle show her arms it’s her personal style. I annoyed that Obama got a Portuguese Water Dog it’s nothing against Bo but I personally believe it should be a type of dog that doesn’t reference another country in its name.
    @Kyle
    When Hoover told you to write stuff done he didn’t mean on the blog. It’s always a good idea not to write stuff like that on a blog which is available to people all over the internet. Also teachers and staff members may look at the blog occasionally so we as Hoover’s students to smear his name by making comments that should not be made publicly. Stuff like that is better said in class where we will either forget it soon enough or try to ram it out of our head with the closest available blunt object.
    @Tom and Kenny
    I believe that Hoover also mentioned not to curse, swear, or use text shorthand on the blog. While we may all agree that Kyle’s post was objectionable, we should find away to tell Kyle that the post was so in a way that doesn’t involve jejune name calling. Hopefully this may create a standard for the blog that allows us all to have AP level discussions and debates; instead of the normal level which just seems so Kyle.

    obama was put into a middle of a big pile of horse poop his first year. he didnt do much which in my opinion is alright because he didnt get flushed. he obviously has room to grow and become a better president. in his interview with oprah he mentioned giving himself a 'solid B+' he has high hopes in raising that grade if he passes the health care bill. i think the things that should be shelved are the things that he is trying on the economy but is not working.

    yeah i guess his children are cool to talk about but politically his children arent running the country. its fun to read about and it makes the headlines in magazines but that's about it. and the dog. he was on oprah. michelle obama is the first lady so i think that she should get some attention even though she doesnt have the final say. but going back to the dog. keep him away from vick..and kyle.

    @ megan
    haha all obama's family does is influence his decisions and your saying its not a big deal?! yeah that can be a huge deal. one of obama's main jobs is to make decisions.

    @ kyle
    you probably want to kill the dog to eat yourself.

  42. Posting from the best corner ever:

    Obama is no different from any other fscking president we've had. If we want some real change, we need to abolish this stagnant two party system and get some people in there who will actually think about something other than getting reelected once in their pathetic, miserable, corruption filled lives. Fracking tools.

    So, about his actual presidency... Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Like Hoover and some other people have said, he will actually try to stay kind of in the middle and not do much, so he can keep the largest number of sheep *ahem* people happy. On a somewhat related note, has anyone checked out politicalcompass.org before? Neat stuff, and occasionally an eye opener. In any case, we have yet to see any real change of any sort. Honestly, I don't think we will, but I'm a 17 year old girl, not a political analyst. So what do I know?

    About his personal life. It sickens me when I see how frighteningly obsessed with celebrities lives Americans are. (Huh, talk sort of like Yoda I do). But really, can't we let him have his privacy? Yes, being such a public figure he should be prepared to spend some time in the spotlight, but geez. No matter if I agree with someone or not, I strongly believe in the right to privacy for all citizens, no matter who they are.

    @Sav and some other people
    Yes, the resemblance to the Kennedys is uncanny at times.
