ReplyDeleteA major benefit of electronic trading websites such as Ameritrade is the convenience it offers to the shareholders to buy and sell stocks and bonds. These websites also offer valuable knowledge to everyday citizens that would otherwise only be available to industry professionals. A major pitfall is that many people don’t understand that the cheapest commission doesn’t equal the cheapest trade. Also, that the way something is traded can really affect the profits and price.

I think a small bailout could be helpful, but the fact that they have hiked taxes on things such as fuel and tobacco should also help alleviate some of the debt, so I don’t think a huge bailout is necessary.
1. According to some stock market thing on news.moneycentral.msn.com, the Dow's intraday (What ever that is) dropped almost 1000 points on Thursday. This was all blamed on computerized trade and electronic networks involved in the stock market. The good part about elecftronic trading is that you can do it much faster than by yourself. A computer can calculate prices and trends as well as place orders, which means pretty much everybody can do it. however with something called flash trading, some people can get stocks at a much less price than what is offered to everyone else so it seems completely unfair.

3. I chose the toyota stock. As of recently, it went down...no surprise there. That might have something to do with with all of the recalls and accidents involving the breaks. Over the course of a year the stock seems to have gone down as well. Since the economy has been pretty bad people have not been buying as many toyotas apparently.
4. The Greek economy is close to a collapse. The problem is threatening Spain and Portugal as well. Greece is in debt and they want to impose new taxes on their citizens and many seem to be protesting. They probably should bail Greece out or else most of Europe's economy might collapse, or at least all the countries that use euro's will colapse. I believe it onlhy becomes a problem when they begin to bail out everything so maybe just this once, they should try and help everyone out.

This often means that stock prices are pretty high.

It had a steady incline to a max of $13.52, on April 8, with a unannounced low of 7.34 on March 16. The raise in stock prices in that time period was most likely attributed to it being a new stock. 4. Greece is broke. The government spends more than what their economy can keep up with in; not far from the U.S. now is it? Their debt is over 400 billion. Should we bail them out? Short answer: NO. I don’t know if people remember that the U.S. has a multi-trillion dollar debt, but we do! Since then it has decreased to $7.51 billion for the final quarter of 2009. The decrease is a result of consumers preference for healthier drinks rather than carbonated soft drinks. 4. The problem in Greece is that their economy is failing. They are in over $400 billion in debt and simply do not have enough money to pay it back. If this goes on any longer, their economy will eventually collapse. This would greatly affect the world trade market, so yes, I think the European Union should find a way to bail them out. Improving the economy in Greece would, in turn, improve the economy in Europe which is a big aspect of the overall financial stance of world.
