Also, continue to do research on the candidates. Who is favored? Visit their sites and detail what they believe? List and detail a few other candidates? Which one is the best according to you and why? In the end, who do you think will win & how will he change PA?
Lastly, the years of the Rendell Governorship is winding down. Evaluate his governorship. What were his major accomplishments & failures.
Tom Corbett is the favored candidate. He believes in “leadership with no corruption.” He wants to create an new Amendment creating a two-year budget cycle. He also wishes to restore trust in Harrisburg by reducing the size of the auto fleet.
ReplyDeleteAnother few candidates are Joe Hoeffel, a former Congressman, Dan Onorato, Allegheny County Chief Executive, and Anthony Williams, who I always see commercials for about him holding a box, and “thinking outside of it.” I, personally, am gonna side with the general public and go with Tom Corbett for the win. He seems to be the most qualified. Hopefully, he will reform the mess in Harrisburg and help with the budget deficit.
I hate Rendell. He is an idiot, a heartless idiot. I really wish I could kick him in the kneecaps to be honest. Both of the adults I live with (mother and step-dad) are state employees and he basically has taken away 25% of their income. He has taken away their Christmas bonuses and raises. And during the time when his stupid butt couldn’t get the budget passed we were not sure when they would get paid next while he’s lining his pockets. Its not right and all the while he’s giving quotes to the press about how the state’s employees should put a statue of him on their mantels for all the great things he’s done. Yeah right. I usually don’t care so much about politics but this dude really gets my goat, so I’m EXTREMELY happy to see him leaving office. So basically that covers all his failures…. According to his website he helped the economy, so I guess that’s an accomplishment. But I still want to kick him.
So there is one Republican, Tom Corbett, and three Democrats, Jack Wagner, Joe Hoeffel, and Dan Onorato (not sure if that's spelled right). Right now Corbett is in the lead. Corbett is the State Attorney General who wants to prevent crime and corruption, reduce gun voilence, and improve education like everyone else. Jack Wagner, the State Auditor' s slogan is "Back Jack" he's dedicated to public service and was an ex marine, he also wants to improve PA's foundation, which im not sure what that exactly involves. Jack Wagner wants to do the same thing and also protect the old people and give everyone civil rights, liberties, and equality. Dan Onorato The Allegheny County Chief Executive really doesn't have a good website about where he would stand as govener so I'm not really sure what he would do. Honestly I'm not really sure who would be best because they are all really for the same thing. All I know is that the republican will probably win because everyone is unhappy with Rendell
ReplyDeleteMost people disapprove of Rendell's work. I also hear that he was messing around with a prostitute...there's your scandal!!!! He also didn't do much with the budget crisis. He did increase minimum wage and tried to control medical malpractice. His website said he added more jobs but I don't feel that this success was apparent. It also said that he tried to improve the enviornment, but it's been a while since I've seen dudes in bright orange jumpsuits picking up trash.
1. The top candidate at this point is Tom Corbett. He believes in "turning on the power in pennsylvania" by growing small business in PA. He has a whole plan on reforming Pennsylvania's economy.
ReplyDelete2. Jack Wagner is the State Auditor and has a lot of things going for him. Ex-marine with a purple heart, went to IUP, 10-year senator, he's done a lot with early education and transportation and in my opinion the most experienced candidate. Especially with money which we're not in the best economic situation so my vote goes with him as the winner. Joe Hoeffel a state rep, U.S. congressman, and montgomery county commisioner. He seems alright but in my opinion he just doesnt stick out as "governor." Dan Onorato is still a little wet behind the ears so i dont know about governor. But he has done a lot for Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. He has also won some "unwinnable" elections so this kid could come from out of nowhere and win it all but i doubt it. No offense to his credits but governor is a little more important and its not as easy to win as the other offices he's held.
3. I think Rendell was a great governor. He did a lot for the econmoy, education, and crime in pennsylvania. Despite amanda's deep hatred i think he's always been a great guy not just in his governing years. I think he did great as DA and as mayor of Philly. He may not always please everyone but thats what comes with the job you have to make hard decisions that piss people off for the greater good. Personally i wish we could reelect him but its alright. I also think we need a change up too because change is good.
Tom Corbett, as the State Attorney General who wants to prevent crime and corruption, improve education, and reduce gun violence. He also has a whole plan on reforming Pa's economy. Corbett is currently the favored canidate and the only repbublican. The other three democratic running canidates are; Jack wagner, who wants to improve Pa's foundation and his slogan is the "black jack," Dan Onorato, who is the Allegheny County Chief Executive and Joe Hoeffel. Out of the four I think Corbett will win just because he is repbublican and people are so unhappy with Rendell. Hopefully, if he does win he will make the improvenments he wants to.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was seraching for Ed Rendell's governorship inforamtion, news about his prostitutes popped up. That is definately public and his scandal. As far his accomplishments as governor I found that he reduced taxes, increased education funding in the plan for a New Pennsylvania and expanded prescription drug coverage. Ed Rendell's 2009- 2010 one billion dollar budget deficit was a complete failure.
1. Attorney General Tom Corbett is the favored candidate for governor of Pennsylvania. He is a Republican and he has been involved in criminal justice policy. He was in the National Guard which shows his support for protecting our country and state. Corbett was also a high school teacher. He seems like an all-around good guy. He plans to stablize PA's economy and prevent crime. Corbett is very involved and has service experience in many areas. I think that he is probably the best candidate, but Jack Wagner is decent as well.
ReplyDelete2. Jack Wagner is a Democratic candidate who has been involved in public service. He served in the Marines and earned a purple heart. Wagner was Auditor General and plans to rebuild PA's foundation and "secure a stronger future". Democrat Joe Hoeffel was a State Representative, Congressman and County Commissioner. He believes in promoting econonmic opportunity and improving government. He seems like your average in- between candidate that isn't great or awful. Dan Onorato is Allegheny County Chief Executive and I couldn't really find much information about him so I'm not entirely sure what he believes.
3. Governor Ed Rendell has apparently made accomplishments for PA's economy, education, and environment. He also expanded health care, reformed the local tax system, and created new jobs. I'm not sure that he really did help PA's economy that much. There's a financial mess everywhere so I can't really blame him. I am not familiar with his failures as governor. I found one person's online commentary which pretty much criticized Rendell on every issue.

The favored person is Tom Corbett. He is a Republican. He really wants to try to stop crime, and help with education and our economy. Some other candidates are Dan Onorato, Joe Hoeffel, and Jack Wagner. Jack is the State Auditor and was a Marine and won a purple heart and has two kids. Hoeffel is state representative, and a democrat. His web site says he has been working for thirty years. He is Montgomery County Commissioner. Dan Onorato has three kids, and believes that family and faith are most important things. He wants to change PA and bring new ideas of reform and clean up Harrisburg, create new jobs, and strengthen our education.
ReplyDeleteUm it doesn’t really matter to me who wins I don’t really care. But idk I think that either Corbett or Onorato should win cause from what I read they both sound like they would do a really good job and try to help improve a lot of things. They would change all the things I said above that they wanted to work on. But like everyone else said Corbett will win cause they don’t like Rendell.
Rendell reduced taxes and gave more funding to education, and I couldn’t find anything that he did bad.
The Republican, Tom Corbett, is the favored candidate. He is currently the State Attorney General who wants to improve Pa by prevent crime and improving education. Other candidates include Jack Wagner, Joe Hoeffel and Dan Onorato. Jack focuses on public service and Dan is relatively new but is a good speaker and politician. Personally, I think Tom is going to win. He is already the favored candidate and his focused is on education; currently and always a hot topic. I would say that Rendell’s biggest accomplishment was increased minimum wage. He also created some new jobs, reduced taxes and increased education funding.
ReplyDeleteFavored is Tom Corbett the Republican. He wants to stop crime and help the educational process.
ReplyDeleteSome things Rendell did was in econimic, education, and medical. He supposally opened more jobs, increase minimuim wage, reduced taxes and helped educational areas get more funding.

ReplyDeleteTom Corbett is favored. Although he is a Republican, he supports and promotes small business. His plan is to “turn on the power of Pennsylvania.” A few other candidates are Jack Wagner, Joe Hoeffel and Dan Onorato, all of whom are Democrats. Wagner describes himself as “independent,” Wagner describes himself as “responsible,”
and Onorato portrays himself as a “family man.” In my opinion, Dan Onorato is best. Although the other two Democratic candidates are reliable, they are both relatively old[er]. Onorato is young and full of new ideas, and I think he would contribute the most to Pennsylvania out of the three. Also, his website is more appealing in that it doesn’t try to “sell him” like an ad for a person, but rather just offers information if one is interested. The other two Democratic candidates’ websites seem to advertise the men and literally say “Governor 2010.” Despite my observations of these men, it seems evident in the article that Corbett is likely to win. He will probably change Pennsylvania by embracing the small business, as stated on his website.
I think Rendell had an overall successful governorship. Although his leadership seems controversial, it must be understood that this is a very demanding job and you can’t make everyone happy, all the time. Some of his major accomplishments were that he increased education funding, reduced taxes, and expanded prescription drug coverage. One of his failures was the “one billion dollar budget deficit.”
